EFC Board Appoints New Chair

Bill Fietje, president of the Associated Gospel Churches, became chair of the EFC’s board of directors on May 10. The board includes members from across the country who ensure the mission, vision and strategic ends are pursued effectively. They work closely with EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger. Please join us in thanking three retiring board members and in praying for the new chair and all the other board members.

Call to Prayer

EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger assured the pastor of Tim Bosma’s church by phone that the EFC community has been and will continue to pray for the family and congregation. Bosma, a man who had been missing since May 6, was confirmed dead by police May 14. To send a word of encouragement, go to ancastercrc.org.

 
Religion in Canada’s Census

EFC Vice-President Don Hutchinson was a feature interviewee in the widely reported Canadian Press story Religion Marks a Divergent Path Throughout U.S., Canadian History which reflects on the results of the 2011 National Householder Survey in regard to religion in Canada.

 
WEA International Council Meets

This week EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger is participating in the International Council meetings of the World Evangelical Alliance. The International Council is the governing body elected by the General Assembly of the WEA. Clemenger has served on the council for 10 years.
