Job Opportunities - Two Kinds of Internships

The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada in Ottawa has developed a Canadian Evangelicalism Research Internship Program for post-secondary students.

Canadian Evangelicalism Research Internship Program
Part-time and Full-time Internships Available

Duration

The internship sessions run from June to August (Summer Session), September to December (Fall Session) and January to April (Winter Session).

Description

One to two interns will be given the opportunity to work with the EFC’s research team on various primary research projects on Canadian Evangelicalism.  Interns will be supervised and mentored by the EFC’s Director of Research, Rick Hiemstra.

The Director of Research will work with each intern to develop projects which align with their interests. Students will have an opportunity to research, draft and potentially publish a research paper in the EFC’s journal Church & Faith Trends. Their research findings may be circulated to EFC affiliates, media and/or policy makers. Interns will have an opportunity to attend meetings, events and presentations with EFC staff.

Applicant Requirements

  • The successful candidates should have completed at least one year of post-secondary studies at a university or college.
  • Candidates should have strong communication, research and organizational skills.
  • Statistical training is not required but candidates should have good attention to detail and a willingness to learn basic statistical principles.
  • Agreement with the EFC’s Statement of Faith and Staff Conduct Policy is required.
  • The internships will be located in the EFC’s Ottawa office and the candidates will be required to work from those offices. The EFC can assist successful candidates in finding short-term housing.
  • The internship program is unremunerated; however the EFC will work with the student and their faculty advisor to develop projects or research papers for which the student may receive course credit where possible.

Deadline

Faith Today EFC Communications Internship Program
Part-time and Full-time Internships Available

Duration

The internship sessions run from June to August (Summer Session), September to December (Fall Session) and January to April (Winter Session).

Description

One intern will be given the opportunity to work with the EFC’s communications team on various primary communications projects related to the EFC, its magazine Faith Today, and their social media streams. Interns will be supervised and mentored by the senior editors of Faith Today.

The editors will work with each intern to develop projects which align with their interests. Interns will have an opportunity to attend meetings, events and presentations with EFC staff.

Applicant Requirements

  • The successful candidates should have completed at least one year of post-secondary studies at a university or college.
  • Candidates should have strong communication, research and organizational skills.
  • Agreement with the EFC’s Statement of Faith and Staff Conduct Policy is required.
  • The internships will be located in the EFC’s Richmond Hill office and the candidates will be required to work from there.
  • The internship program is unremunerated; however the EFC will work with the student and their faculty advisor to develop projects or research papers for which the student may receive course credit where possible.
