Government restrictions on religion increasing worldwide

August 22 was the first ever International Day Commemorating the Victims of Violence Based on Religion or Belief. A recent report on religious restrictions around the world by the Pew Research Center finds increasing social hostilities and increasing levels of government restriction on religions. In our new blog post, find our suggestions on how we as individuals and churches can shore up religious freedom in Canada and influence change in anti-religious attitudes.

Also, let's keep our Algerian brothers and sisters in prayer, as the government has forcibly closed six churches there, including one house church. The World Evangelical Alliance is “calling upon Christians globally to pray continually for their brothers and sisters in Christ in Algeria, and for the people of Algeria. We ask for prayer for peace and prosperity for this country, as we urge them to uphold religious freedom.”
