INTERVIEW WITH A PALLIATIVE-CARE DOCTOR
The Aug/Sept issue of the EFC newsletter Canada Watch features an interview about assisted suicide and palliative care with Dr. Michael Koke of Kitchener, Ont. He says a good death can be beautiful, but he has major concerns about Canada’s legalization of physician-assisted suicide and the need for education about palliative care. Download this free, four-page PDF and you can also get quick updates about the Trinity Western University law school case, a word from President Bruce J. Clemenger and our regular update from Parliament Hill.

NEW RELIGIOUS FREEDOM CASE
Last week the EFC and the Christian Legal Fellowship together applied to the Supreme Court of Canada for intervener status in the Ktunaxa Nations Case. The case involves important issues of religious freedom in Canada.

IN ONTARIO, P.E.I. AND NOVA SCOTIA
Don McNiven, the EFC’s director of affiliate and donor relations, will be visiting in Ontario in August and October with trips to P.E.I. and Nova Scotia also this fall. He'd be delighted to visit with supporters to discuss the programs of the EFC and current research initiatives. Email him or call 416-902-9110.

REMEMBERING THE AIR INDIA BOMBING
What is a Christian response to the largest mass murder in Canadian history? And why have a number of those involved turned to creating art in response to the 1985 bombing that killed 382 people? The Jul/Aug issue of Faith Today, Canada’s Christian magazine, includes a thought-provoking report from a recent memorial conference. Read the article online and browse the entire issue.
