THE EFC UPDATE - 2015.12.22
Uniting Evangelicals to bless Canada in the name of Jesus

Sign up to receive the EFC Update via email every Tuesday to keep up with current news from The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS
“Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” These are the words of the prophet Isaiah describing the Messiah whose birth we celebrate this special season. May we each come to a deeper sense of the depth and breadth of the meaning of Jesus’s birth, life, death and resurrection for humanity and indeed, for all of creation. Let us proclaim this Good News and live it out in our communities and our country. On behalf of the board and staff of the EFC, we wish you a merry Christmas and a happy and fruitful New Year.             – EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger

NEXT WEBINAR: CLERGY WELLNESS
Mark your calendar for the next free EFC webinar, to be held Jan. 20, 2016 at noon Eastern. What is the state of mental and emotional health of our clergy in Canada? What does wellbeing look like in a busy pastoral life that is often full of demands and ripe for burn-out? How can churches care better for their ministry leaders? Bring your questions and concerns to our experts from Shalem Mental Health Network and Wycliffe College. Registration opens soon. Details: theEFC.ca/webinars.

NO AGE LIMITS FOR ASSISTED SUICIDE?
A nationwide government advisory group is making a serious mistake, argues EFC Policy Analyst Julia Beazley at theEFC.ca/blog.

PUT YOUR IMAGE IN OUR YOUTH LOGO
The EFC recently launched a youth initiative called Love Is Moving in which youth encourage each other to put faith into action. To highlight the collaborative character of this movement, we’re building a new logo that will consist of thousands of individual pictures (see a one-minute video). You can invite Christian youth and adults to upload photos to any public social media channel. Use hashtag #loveismoving so that your photos can added into this moving mosaic.

NO EFC UPDATE NEXT WEEK
Due to the holiday break, the next issue of the EFC Update will not appear until Jan. 5, 2016. However EFC staff will continue to accept donations daily until year-end. We pray that God will richly bless Canada and all our EFC Update readers this Christmas and New Year!
