Uniting Evangelicals to bless Canada in the name of Jesus

Sign up to receive the EFC Update via email every Tuesday to keep up with current news from The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.

PRAY FOR EFC PRESIDENT
EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger is participating in the World Evangelical Alliance’s International Leadership Forum being held in Seoul, South Korea, this week. Clemenger is a member of the WEA’s International Council which met in Seoul this past weekend.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Would you like to chat with experts from the Canadian evangelical community on issues that matter? That’s what happens live online during EFC webinars. The discussions are also recorded for those unable to attend. Our most recent webinar tackled euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. Others have examined clergy wellness (how churches can help pastors avoid burnout) and helping refugees (tips for congregations). They’re free online at theEFC.ca/WebinarArchive.

STAND AGAINST ASSISTED SUICIDE
Canadians are in a critical moment to interact with their local Member of Parliament about euthanasia and assisted suicide. MPs are in their ridings this week, meeting with constituents. Become informed and equipped to contact your MP at theEFC.ca/EuthanasiaUrgentAction.

VIDEO: RESPONDING TO ASSISTED-SUICIDE RECOMMENDATIONS
The TV show Context With Lorna Dueck has just published a five-minute video of Julia Beazley, the EFC’s director of public policy. She responds to the 21 recommendations that a joint parliamentary committee recently presented to the Liberal government as it sets out to draft the law on medically assisted death. What does it mean for Canadians? Are the vulnerable at risk?

MEET US ON THE LOWER MAINLAND
The EFC’s new director of affiliate and donor relations, Don McNiven, will be in the Langley, Surrey and Vancouver area from March 15 to 17. He would be delighted to visit with supporters there to discuss the programs of the EFC and a current research extension of the Canadian Bible Engagement Study. Inquiries welcome at McNivenD@theEFC.ca or call 416-902-9110.
