THE LATEST ABOUT ASSISTED SUICIDE
EFC experts will take your questions on Mar. 31 at a free webinar. Let’s explore what to do next, now that a parliamentary committee is proposing that all doctors and institutions be required to participate in an assisted suicide regime with no minimum age requirement or terminal physical illness requirement. Register now at theEFC.ca/webinars.

IMPROVING PALLIATIVE CARE
EFC staff met with Member of Parliament Charlie Angus about his motion on palliative care. The EFC supports motion M-46, which calls on the federal government to improve the availability of palliative care in Canada in a number of ways, including the implementation of a Pan-Canadian Palliative and End-of-Life Care Strategy. Read more at theEFC.ca/PalliativeCare.

YOUR MP NEEDS TO HEAR FROM YOU. HERE’S HOW
Don’t wait for the upcoming webinar to interact with your local Member of Parliament about assisted suicide. The current window of opportunity is closing soon! Find all the basics you need at theEFC.ca/EuthanasiaUrgentAction.

DIGITAL BOOKLET NOW IN PRINT
The 64-page booklet Euthanasia + Palliative Care: A Guide for Canadianscontinues to be available for download at theEFC.ca/EuthanasiaPalliativeGuidePDF. But you now have the option of ordering printed copies as well. It makes a great study guide for individuals or small groups. DEFENDING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
EFC President Bruce Clemenger was part of a delegation of religious leaders who met yesterday with Rona Ambrose, Leader of the Official Opposition, in advance of the vote on whether the federal government will extend the mandate of the Office of Religious Freedom (ORF). The EFC had encouraged the government to continue the good work of the ORF and its Ambassador Dr. Andrew Bennet in a February letter. The motion to extend the mandate of the ORF was defeated.

MEET YOU IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
Don McNiven, the EFC’s director of affiliate and donor relations, will be visiting the Winnipeg area the week of April 18, Ontario during May and then New Brunswick and Nova Scotia the week of June 6. He would be delighted to visit with supporters there to discuss the programs of the EFC and a current research extension of the Canadian Bible Engagement Study.
