New Research on Canadian Evangelicals and Long-term Missions

The EFC and the Canadian Missions Research Forum have released Canadian Evangelicals and Long-Term, Career Missions: Calling, Sending and Training, the second report in the Canadian Evangelicals Missions Engagement Study series. Religious Discrimination Motion: EFC Response

The EFC is concerned about the wording of motion M-103, currently before the House of Commons, which calls for a study aimed at reducing religious discrimination in Canada. EFC President Bruce Clemenger explains where our concerns lie.

Canadian Evangelicals Forum in British Columbia

Rick Hiemstra, Director of Research and Media Relations, and Aileen van Ginkel, Vice-President, Ministry Services, will be at Willingdon Church in Burnaby tomorrow, March 8, for the B.C. Canadian Evangelicals Forum. Co-hosted by Outreach Canada, this event will bring pastors and church leaders together to discern how God is leading Evangelicals in Canada. Previous forums were held in Toronto last June and Moncton in November.

Director of Affiliate and Donor Relations to Visit Alberta and Manitoba

Don McNiven, our Director of Affiliate and Donor Relations, will be in Calgary, Alberta on March 29th and Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 30th visiting churches, donors, educational institutions and organizations.  If you'd like a visit from him to learn more about the EFC and how you can get involved, please email Don.

Love Is Moving at Today’s Teens Conference, Fluid Conference 

Ben Porter and Joel Gordon, co-founders of the EFC’s young adults magazine Love Is Moving, recently represented Love Is Moving at events for youth and young adults. Ben was at Today’s Teens Conference in Oakville, Ont., on February 25, while Joel attended the Fluid Young Adult Gathering, also in Oakville, last Saturday, March 4. They distributed hundreds of copies of Love Is Moving magazine.

EFC President Speaking in Lethbridge, Alberta

FT Interview With Loren Wilkinson

In our March/April Faith Today, we interviewed poet and theologian Loren Wilkinson, emeritus professor of interdisciplinary studies and philosophy at EFC affiliate Regent College, a school known for its focus on creation care. Dr. Wilkinson introduced his new DVD, Making Peace with Creation, shared why he thinks the evangelical community has been wary of discussing climate change, and explained why urban planners should remember that even cities are nested within the natural world.
