Love Is Moving on Vimeo

Did you know? Love is Moving, a TV series for young adults produced by the EFC’s Joel Gordon and Ben Porter, is on Vimeo. It is also currently airing on Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on YES TV. Watch the most recently-aired episode, with former child soldier Emmanuel Jal. He tells how God provided food on a journey through Sudan, saving him from a temptation to commit cannibalism as he and his friend starved.

See photos from the conference, as well as tweets and pictures in story form.

Join in on World Refugee Sunday

World Refugee Sunday is held annually on the Sundays before and after June 20 (World Refugee Day) to remember the needs of refugees. Plan to join in prayer and action, responding in practical ways to God’s call to “love the stranger as yourself.” Visit Refugee Highway’s website for new information, resources and links.

New French Magazine / Nouvelle Revue Française

Voyeurism, Exploitation or Edgy Fiction in “Pure”?

The CBC series, “Pure,” depicts a Mennonite drug cartel. While the series is inspired by a true story, it has received criticism for fabricating details about Mennonite subgroups and including a “bewildering” amount of violence. “Pure” has also been called exploitative for portraying a group of people “unlikely to speak out against it, care about it or possibly even know it exists.” Read more in the May/June issue of Faith Today.
