World Refugee Sunday

About 1 in every 113 people worldwide are forcibly displaced, mostly women and children, according to the World Evangelical Alliance. World Refugee Sunday is held annually on the Sundays before and after June 20 (World Refugee Day) to remember the needs of refugees. Plan to join in prayer and action, responding in practical ways to God’s call to “love the stranger as yourself.” Visit Refugee Highway’s website for new information, resources and links.

Hundreds of copies of Love Is Moving magazine are being distributed in B.C. this month through the Historymaker youth conference (Historymaker.ca). Students will also be challenged at the conference to join God’s movement of youth across the country who are vibrantly living out their faith and inspired to share how God’s love is moving in their communities. Tell us about your upcoming youth event or conference. Help Your Kids Embrace the Faith

Three years ago, Rebecca Gregoire Lindenbach wrote a guest post on her mom’s blog about why she didn’t rebel as a teenager. Now she’s written a book based on interviews with 25 young adults who grew up in Christian households. When she compared the families of kids who rebelled with those whose kids didn’t rebel, Lindenbach concluded that “authentic faith and picture-perfect faith are often very different things.” Read more of her findings in the May/Jun Faith Today.
