TWU's decision to change the requirement for students to sign a community covenant was welcomed by some and met with dismay by others. Your Stories of Palliative Care—Janice McAdam

“One of the hardest conversations was when she asked, 'Am I really going to die this time?' But there were so many opportunities to uplift her and make her last days more comfortable." Janice McAdam of New Minas, N.S., shares her two personal experiences with palliative care as part of our stories of palliative care series to go along with the EFC's new Palliative Care Toolkit.

Our Common Calling and the Language of Mission: Latest Canada Watch

The EFC hosted a consultation recently to help clarify areas of convergence and divergence in how Canadian Evangelicals talk about mission engagement. The dialogue, held in Toronto, was facilitated by Matthew Gibbins, executive director of the EFC’s Global Mission Roundtable, and Aileen van Ginkel, vice-president, ministry services of the EFC. Read about it in the latest issue of Canada Watch, the EFC newsletter.

Young Adults Need Communities of Faithful Adults Beyond Family

“Young adults who persist in the faith into young adulthood are well integrated into churches and other Christian communities. Warm relationships with parents who live out their faith are vital for faith formation; however, when it comes time to develop a Christian identity apart from one’s parents, young adults need persisting communities of faithful adults, mentors and friends in their lives.” You can read this and many other significant findings in Renegotiating Faith, a new report derived from research on young adult transitions conducted by the EFC and its partners. It is now available as a free download!

The EFC, Power to Change–Students, InterVarsity Canada, Youth for Christ and Truth Matters Ministries partnered on this research to discover how we can help our teens stay connected to church and faith as they move on from high school.

Liberalism and Surrogacy: Should We Allow the Commercialization of Surrogacy?

This debate drives us back to our basic understanding about the nature of human life, and what dignity and respect for human life entails." EFC President Bruce Clemenger discusses the commercialization of surrogacy in the latest Faith Today.
