EFC Update Newsletter December 17, 2019

17 December 2019

Message from the President

Due to the Christmas holidays, we will not be publishing an Update on December 24 or December 31. We will resume on January 7. From everyone at the EFC, we want to wish you a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year with family and friends!  Here is a Christmas message from EFC President Bruce Clemenger:

That the holy and all-powerful God of the universe, Creator of all things, would send His own Son to suffer for our redemption is truly amazing. As those who worship Him, who know and experience His mercy and compassion, His gift of love we celebrate this season is our reason for joy and peace. May you know this unprecedented peace and joy this Christmas.

Thank You for Your Support of the EFC

Your prayers and charitable donations have been crucial to the work of the EFC – uniting Evangelicals across Canada to pray, to stand and to speak as one Church – to bless our communities and our country in the name of Jesus. As we approach the end of a busy year at the EFC, would you consider making one more gift before December 31? Your year-end gift will help determine what programs and activities we can engage in throughout the upcoming year. You can either phone in your gift toll-free at 1-866-302-3362 OR donate online.

The Most Important Thing Ever

Could Christ’s birth actually be the most important event of our Christian life? Without Christmas, no other aspect of our Christian faith makes sense, argues EFC Vice-President David Guretzki. “The greatest mystery of Christmas is therefore not how God could be simultaneously divine and human, as great as that is. It is that God actually did it.”

Christmas Bible Knowledge Quiz

The EFC staff did a version of this Christmas Bible knowledge quiz last week. For fun, why not try it with your friends and family? (If you can get a perfect score, you’ve done better than any of us did!)

Pentecostal Church and Mennonite Group Respond to B.C. Flooding

At times, churches may feel invisible to the wider community. But when Mennonite Disaster Service came to aid flood victims in Grand Forks, B.C., and River Pentecostal Church hosted its operations, the church played a front-and-centre role in helping the community recover. Read more in this informative post at the Faith Today website.
