Participate in government budget consultation

The Department of Finance is offering a pre-budget questionnaire and accepting formal submissions on what should be in the fall federal budget. You can suggest the government support your community by not politicizing charities, including pro-life charities, and by maintaining the charitable status of advancing religion. For background information, see the March brief the EFC sent the Finance Department on charitable status. The deadline to participate in the government consultation is August 28, 2025.

Letter on human trafficking to public safety minister

The EFC is asking for a new permanent national strategy to fight human trafficking. “Human trafficking is not just a serious crime with devastating impacts, it is also one that is often hidden, difficult to detect and hard to prosecute,“ the EFC’s Julia Beazley wrote to the Public Safety Minister. “The realities of human trafficking call for deliberate, coordinated action, both in Canada and around the world.”
