Request for clarification on wage subsidies

Re: Increase in Wage Subsidies
 
Dear Prime Minister,

We listened with interest to this morning’s announcement of an increase in wage subsidies to be made available for small and medium sized businesses, from the 10% announced earlier this week to up to 75%. This is a significant measure that will benefit many Canadians.
 
Such an increase was sought by many in the charitable and not-for-profit sector, which is also substantially impacted by this crisis. It is not yet clear, however, whether the expanded wage subsidy will also be available to registered charities, as the 10% subsidy is. We would welcome clarification on this point.
