EFC President at Pentecostal Prayer Summit

EFC President Bruce J. Clemenger is a plenary speaker this week at the annual prayer summit of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador (PAONL), held at the Emmanuel Conference Centre in Newfoundland. The annual event gathers pastors and spouses from across Newfoundland and Labrador. The PAONL is an affiliate denomination of the EFC.

Transitions at the EFC

This week we say farewell to Bill Winger who has served the EFC faithfully since 2001 as CFO and as VP for finance and administration and, most recently, as Executive Vice President. Bill is retiring and we all wish him a well-deserved rest. This week we welcome Dr. David Guretzki as our new Executive Vice President and Resident Theologian. David has served on the EFC Board for 9 years and was Dean of Briercrest Seminary and Professor of Theology and Public Life.

Battling Pornography: a Guide for Canadians

Join in on World Refugee Sunday

World Refugee Sunday is held annually on the Sundays before and after June 20 (World Refugee Day) to remember the needs of refugees. Plan to join in prayer and action, responding in practical ways to God’s call to “love the stranger as yourself.” The EFC offers a webpage of new information, resources and links.

How to Lead Well When Leading Is Hard: Agents of Change in a Resistant Culture

“Culture eats strategy for breakfast." That’s a quote from Gary Nelson’s coauthor, Peter Dickens, in this adapted excerpt from Leading in DisOrienting Times: Navigating Church and Organizational Change (Chalice Press, 2015). Nelson is president of Tyndale University College and Seminary and has plenty of experience in church leadership. He emphasizes that openness to change is a crucial characteristic for leaders in an age when society is shifting faster than ever before.
