Essay and video contest for young adults

Love Is Moving, Canada's Christian youth magazine, is sponsoring an exciting contest with some great prizes. It invites Canadians age 18 to 35 to write an article (500-1500 words) or create a video (5 minutes or less) and submit it by Sept. 20. Grand prize is $500 and a trip to Montreal Oct. 24 to attend EFC’s Presidents Day to present the winning piece. Several other cash awards range from $250 to $150. The contest aims to re-introduce the evangelical movement to Canadians who don’t use the word “evangelical” much or know a lot about it. Details at LoveIsMoving.ca/Contest.

Biblical rest as leadership

Living in a hasty “24/7 society” makes it difficult to ever fully rest, writes EFC President Bruce Clemenger. But God specifically incorporated the concept of rest into the work of creation, and He continues to call us to take times of rest. Biblical rest “prompts us to consider what ideologies or idols might be absorbing our souls instead of God and the wonder of the created world,” says Clemenger.
