Praying for Canada: Behind the scenes at the National House of Prayer

This fall, Canada will be entering another federal election. Our new podcast goes behind the scenes with Rob Parker, co-founder of the National House of Prayer. Parker discusses NHOP’s vision of prayer for Canadian politicians and shares some inspiring accounts of how prayer has made a difference in surprising ways on Parliament Hill.

EFC-led research helps answer Canadian church questions

The EFC newsletter Canada Watch is published six times per year, briefly explaining EFC activities and outlining current Canadian issues. The Aug/Sep 2019 issue, with the cover story “EFC-led research helps answer Canadian church questions,” is now available at TheEFC.ca/CanadaWatch.

A splash of fresh water: Atheist pastor Gretta Vosper doesn't define the United Church

Columnist John Stackhouse profiles the group Cruxifusion ("the Cross as their unity"), which by its own definition is "a network of United Church of Canada leaders proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour." With his usual wry humour, he explains in his latest Faith Today column what he's learned about "a group of people many Canadians thought had vanished from the face of the earth."

Essay and video contest for young adults

Love Is Moving, Canada's Christian youth magazine, is sponsoring an exciting contest with some great prizes. It invites Canadians age 18 to 35 to write an article (500-1500 words) or create a video (5 minutes or less) and submit it by Sept. 20. Grand prize is $500 and a trip to Montreal Oct. 24 to attend EFC’s Presidents Day to present the winning piece. Several other cash awards range from $250 to $150. The contest aims to re-introduce the evangelical movement to Canadians who don’t use the word “evangelical” much or know a lot about it. Details at LoveIsMoving.ca/Contest.
