Freedom of Conscience Bill Up for Debate

Private member’s Bill C-418, the Freedom of Conscience Act, is scheduled to be debated on May 29.

This bill would protect health care workers from being compelled to participate in Medical Assistance in Dying. Let your MP know that freedom of conscience is important to you and ask your MP to support Bill C-418. See a sample letter and the EFC’s letter of support at TheEFC.ca/c418.

Broken Trust

“Canadians are being bombarded daily with accusations and evidence of broken political, corporate and religious trust,” says EFC Vice-President David Guretzki in Faith Today. He reminds us that we all play a role in maintaining public trust in leadership: “All of us, including aspiring leaders, would do well to ask how we’re doing on the little things…. We shouldn’t expect God to entrust us with much tomorrow if we fail to do well with the little things He’s called us to do today.”
