EFC Statement on Death of David Mainse

On September 25, Canadian Christian media pioneer David Mainse died at age 81. He led the development of Canada’s Christian television sector for decades with a deep passion that everyone he reached would come to know his personal saviour, Jesus Christ. On behalf of the board and staff of the EFC, we offer heartfelt condolences and our abiding thanks to his family for sharing him with the world, and our sympathies to the staff at Crossroads for the loss of a truly remarkable friend and colleague.

Call for Conscience Campaign in Manitoba

In our latest Three Questions Series blog article, Larry Worthen of the Coalition for HealthCARE and Conscience discusses the Manitoba government’s proposed Bill 34. This bill would safeguard the conscience rights of medical professionals, protecting individuals from being required to provide—or aid in providing—assisted suicide. A Call for Conscience Campaign has been launched in Manitoba, and its supporters are encouraged to call on their MLAs to support Bill 34. For more information on how Manitoba residents can get involved, visit the Coalition’s Take Action page.

Fearless: Christians Are Part of Culture and Culture Is a Part of Us

In response to a secularizing culture and a declining church, many Christians have retreated from their own culture in fear. Dr. Anna Robbins, vice-president of Acadia Divinity College, explains why many of our fears are baseless – and why we should instead learn how to fearlessly engage culture.

Robbins’ article is published in Faith Today, Canada’s Christian magazine, which is currently offering 2-for-1 gift subscriptions at www.FaithToday.ca/2for1. Buy a gift that lasts all year! Discounted offer only available for a limited time.
