THE EFC LAUNCHES WEEKLY PODCAST
The EFC is happy to announce the launch of The EFC Podcast on June 1. These weekly audio podcasts will introduce a new audience to the EFC’s resources, and they will also highlight the global Church with episodes featuring Brian Stiller, global ambassador of the World Evangelical Alliance. “We’re pleased to branch out with a weekly podcast,” says President Bruce Clemenger.
THREE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE JUNE 13 DOCTORS CONSCIENCE CASE
This week the EFC also launched a series of short expert interviews that you can read on our website. The first in this “Three Questions About” series is with Albertos Polizogopoulos, legal counsel on a case coming to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice June 13-15, 2017. In this case, the EFC is one of several groups legally intervening to support the Christian Medical and Dental Society of Canada, an EFC affiliate, in its application to protect freedom of conscience.

Our new Vice-President David Guretzki will be on 100 Huntley Street on June 13 speaking about the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario case.
RESPONDING TO FAMINE IN AFRICA
EFC President Bruce Clemenger is among a number of Canadian religious leaders who are asking Canadians to mobilize in response to the dire famines impacting South Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria and Yemen. Please pray for the people in these countries, give generously to the aid organizations working to respond to the crisis (the government will match donations made before the end of June) and become informed and tell others about the tremendous need.
STUDY ON MISSIONS PROMOTION IN CANADIAN CONGREGATIONS
The EFC and the Canadian Missions Research Forum have released Canadian Evangelicals and Mission Promotion in the Local Church, the fourth report in the Canadian Evangelicals Mission Engagement Study. It examines how churches promote and educate their people about missions. You can read the executive summary and download a free PDF copy.

THE SHACK CONTROVERSY: HOW THE LABEL “CHRISTIAN” CAN LEAD US ALL ASTRAY
The movie The Shack opened to mixed reviews, criticized by some Christians for departing from traditional theology. Our writer Patricia Paddey wonders if the root of the controversy was the label “Christian” attached to the movie. But is that really how we should view art – as either theologically pure, or not worth watching at all? In the May/June Faith Today, Paddey suggests another way – of appreciating the merit of all art, whether Christian or secular.
