Election Do’s and Don’ts for Churches: Join Tomorrow’s Webinar

A federal election is coming in October. There are ways for Canadian church congregations—even those registered as charities—to be active participants in this extremely important democratic process. Join our webinar tomorrow at noon EDT, to ask questions and learn more.

Our expert guests are Deina Warren, legal counsel for the Canadian Council of Christian Charities, and Julia Beazley, director of public policy for the EFC. There’s still time to register! Register here. [UPDATE: A recording of the webinar will be posted soon on our website.]

Quebec Passes Bill 21

Quebec has passed Bill 21, banning religious symbols from being worn by government employees in a position of authority while they are at work. This bill will apply to teachers and principals in the public school system, police officers and others. The EFC considers Bill 21 to be a violation of religious freedom. Read the EFC’s statement on Bill 21
