[email protected] Prayer prompts for June 6–12

Suggestions for this week’s prayers. Pray them anytime or at the suggested communal time of each Friday at 4:00 p.m. local time.

  • Pray for those who grieve the loss of loved ones and whose lives have been severely impacted throughout the pandemic.
  • Pray for resilience and continued vigilance while the number of infections diminish, those vaccinated increase and restrictions lift.
  • Pray for those who battle with Covid in their bodies, for their families and friends that they might be comforted, and for strength for their medical teams.
  • Pray for pastors and church leaders as worship services are resuming at greater capacity and the effects of the pandemic become manifest in their churches and communities.
  • Pray for the supply and distribution of vaccines, both in Canada and globally, and for those countries facing new waves of infection.

  • Pray for the province of Manitoba and their hospital staff as they continue to cope with high numbers of Covid 19 patients.
  • Pray for those who battle with Covid in their bodies, and for their families and friends that they might be comforted, and for strength for their medical teams.
  • Pray for individuals and families who continue to be separated from their loved ones, that they also may be comforted. 
  • Pray for therapists counseling persons and families suffering due to the effects of the virus, and the isolation and other harms resulting from the restrictions.
  • Pray for pastors and church leaders as they begin to resume some programs after many months while also comforting those suffering from the various effects of the virus and the restrictions imposed to minimize the spread of the virus.
  • Pray for our political leaders and health officials as they make decisions and vary the restrictions amidst the changing dynamics of the pandemic in different parts of Canada.

  • Pray for the province of Manitoba and their hospital staff as they are being stretched with patients fighting the virus.
  • Pray for those battling Covid-19 in their bodies, and for their families and friends that they might be comforted.
  • Pray for those experiencing hardship and the physical, social, economic, psychological, and spiritual effects of the on-going restrictions.
  • Pray for pastors and those seeking to connect and comfort those being treated in hospitals and those suffering from the various effects of the virus and the restrictions imposed to minimize the spread of the virus.
  • Pray for our political leaders and health officials as they make decisions and vary the restrictions amidst the changing dynamics of the pandemic in different parts of Canada.

  • Pray for resilience and continued vigilance as the third wave has peaked in most places and the number of infections diminish and we long to be able to gather with family and friends.
  • Pray for those who battle with Covid in their bodies, and for their families and friends.
  • Pray for stamina for medical teams who have been wrestling with the virus for more than a year.
  • Pray for pastors and church leaders who have been diligent while learning to do things differently in offering care and hope to their congregations and communities.
  • Pray for those languishing under the ongoing threat of the virus and the impact of the restrictions.
  • Pray for our political leaders and health officials as they make decisions and lead amidst a long and challenging crisis.

  • Pray for our political leaders and public health officials as they assess the situation, advise us and determine the restrictions necessary to limit the spread of the virus and the rollout of the vaccines.
  • Pray for those directly impacted by the virus and their families, that they will be comforted.
  • Pray for those experiencing hardship and the physical, social, economic, psychological and spiritual effects of the lockdowns.
  • Pray for the resilience of medical teams and first responders as the number of those infected in many jurisdictions in Canada continues to stress public health capacity.
  • Pray for countries in the world like India being devastated by the virus.
  • Pray that churches in Canada shine as beacons of hope and resilience and offer effective witness in the midst of suffering neighbours.

  • Pray with the regional body of the World Evangelical Alliance, the Asian Evangelical Alliance, calling for prayer for the nation of India, the people of India and the Church in India which is being overwhelmed by the virus.
  • Pray for all those involved in the distribution of the vaccine, for wisdom and strength.
  • Pray for individuals and families who continue to be separated from their loved ones, may they be comforted. 
  • Pray for those battling Covid in their bodies. May they be comforted in their journey through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23).
  • Pray for the loved one of those infected with Covid 19. May they also be comforted.
  • Pray for those who grieve the loss of loved ones while in a vacuum of not being able to gather to mourn.
  • Pray for medical teams and first responders as they care in spite of the risk to themselves, that they might have strength and not grow weary.
  • Pray for pastors and those seeking to connect and comfort those being treated in hospitals and those suffering from the various effects of the virus and the restrictions imposed to minimize the spread of the virus. May they know resilience and be steadfast in their care.
